Scotland Call Up Gareth for the FISTF World Cup in Paris
(And Shop Holiday Closure ☀️)
Okay, okay, not exactly a call-up.
Finishing second in the Scottish Championships this season clinched my spot.
Nevertheless, I’m super chuffed to be pulling on the Scotland shirt at the FISTF World Cup, which takes place at Stade Charlety in Paris from 4–6 September 2026, alongside 28 nations from all over the world.
I’ll be lining up in the Open individual category on the Saturday.
Team event on the Sunday.
Six of us. 4 games on the go at once. One saltire.
Bear in mind, this is Scottish football we’re talking about, just with smaller players, and wee goals, so absolutely no promises of a trophy, but it’s always a proud moment to play alongside my Scottish pals.

I’m also really looking forward to the bit that’s always meant the most to me about this game since my first Subbuteo flick in 1989. Catching up with friends, and meeting new players and faces along the way too.

Paris is going to be a proper celebration of all three.
